Next: AbbottWMM says a Nine Star medal will be added if the Shanghai Marathon passes its evaluation as a candidate race. There is no Seven or Eight Star medal.

Which races count for the Six Star medal?
Only the original six: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York. Sydney and Cape Town are Majors, but the Six Star medal stays with the original six.
Is there a Seven or Eight Star medal?
No medal for seven or eight. AbbottWMM says a Nine Star medal will be added if Shanghai passes its evaluation as a candidate race. Runners can celebrate other combinations with collectible coins.
Which Major is open for entry right now?
As of November 3, 2026, the Berlin lottery is open until November 12, 2026. Chicago and London charity places, Cape Town tour operator and charity entries, and NYRR’s guaranteed-entry programs are also open.
Which Majors need a qualifying time?
Boston requires one for most runners. Chicago, Berlin and New York offer qualifying-time entry alongside their drawings. Tokyo, Sydney and Cape Town are mainly ballots.
