Downhill courses get adjusted: a net drop of 1,500 to 2,999 ft adds 5:00 to your time, 3,000 to 5,999 ft adds 10:00, and 6,000 ft or more does not count. Minimum age is 18.
The course
Net downhill, with the Newton hills late
- Point to point through eight cities and towns.
- The course descends through Ashland, Framingham, Natick and Wellesley, then rises through Newton to Heartbreak Hill. From the top you see downtown Boston, four miles away.
- The race has started in Hopkinton since 1924. The finish closes at 5:30 p.m.
